This adapter is needed, if your Audi (A4, A5, Q5) is equipped with an Audi sound system (Audi Sound 9VD or B&O 9VK), or your VW (Golf 6) is equipped with a Dynaudio sound system.

It allows you to connect the X701D-A4, X701D-A4R, X701D-A5, X701D-Q5 or X901D-G6 to the factory sound system. It is an attenuator which matches the more powerful Alpine Navigation System to the OEM amplifier.

For VW Golf 6 additional adapters might be required.
